Opinion This story makes me deeply reflect on how unmeasured actions can destroy lives. Desperation and hardship can push a person toward dangerous choices, but difficulty is never a full excuse for harming others. Hard moments pass, and patience is often our greatest ally when facing them. Raskolnikov’s journey shows that even in our darkest moments, we are rarely truly alone. Despite his terrible, unjustifiable acts, there were people who cared for him. Instead of isolating himself and letting desperation dictate his steps, he could have sought help and voiced his struggles. His choice to walk a path of violence brought only guilt and regret, teaching the hard truth that no struggle justifies taking a life.
